Breckenridge

Last weekend we drove to Breckenridge for some relief from the humidity and heat. We met our good Army friends in Denver and found a school playground to entertain everyone. To our amazement, everyone got along just like before! What a treat to still be close to friends from the past. When we got to breckenridge the kids tried the bungee/trampoline. Saylor LOVED it and could not go high enough, there were more giggles per inch of air under her feet. Tagg was happy to stay close to the ground and go fast on the alpine slide. This was my first trip to the mountains where I was not altitude sick, what a difference that made. Hiking was so much fun that when we got caught in the rain it only added to the experience.

Colleen visits Iowa

My closest friend from 1st grade came back to Iowa for a visist from Montana. She brought her 5 beautiful children with her and I couldn't pass up a chance to get our kids together for the first time. Unfortunately, while we were at Chucky Cheese Saylor became sick with a fever and as soar throat and we had to cut our visit short, a very short, 4 hours together!! The trip was totally worth it.

August Lake Trip

We went to Matt's Uncle lake for a weekend of fun! We brought along our best buddies and had a blast with all 5 kids trying to water ski! They were all super brave and very tough.Martha was so tired we had to check to see if she had a pulse!

Butz Family Reunion

Dont be surprised if we don't respond to civilization for a while we are reading the new Harry Potter book and can't tear ourselves from it. Matt and I have battled over the book a few times already. We did manage to take break for some company and fun last night. We are only half way through and hoping no outside information reaches us before we are finished.

Last night we had an impromptu dinner party for Matt's grandmother, Nonnie. We all enjoyed getting together and telling old stories. The little one, Kori 8 months, stole the show and entertained all of us.

Matt's Birthday!

Matt's birthday was a fun celebrations this year ALL because he recieved so many great cards. The musical cards gave us hours of fun, especially Dad's. On the front of the card was a plate of chicken wings. On the inside it said "these chickens gave their life for you, you should celebrate" and then it played the chicken dance song.

4th of July

Uncle Mike and Uncle Chris

Wow! We had an amazing vacation with the Albertson family in Detroit Lakes. We had the best fishing of our lives along with outstanding weather. Sarah and I even discovered the benefits of using a paddleboat for catching the big ones. Saylor's favorite part of the vacation was "spending time with family that we dont get to see". Tagg's favorite part was swimming and smores. Matt was relaxed during his spa time, what a fabulous hotel/resort.
