winter wedding

The kids were part of a wedding this weekend. They did such a great job with their duties. Tagg had to walk alone up the aisle and hold the actual wedding rings. Saylor and her friend did great at throwing flowers. Tagg had been really sick earlier in the week with a double ear infection and walking pneumonia! Thankfully he was feeling great by Saturday.

Water camera

The Albertson family all traveled to Cancun Mexico for a family holiday. We stayed at an all inclusive resort that catered to families with children. It was an amazing week of eatting and drinking, starting at 10am, and relaxing. I was truly amazed that all 4 families arrived from 4 different aiports without any problems. THe weather was ideal and the temp of the water was about 70 degrees. Thanks to my amazin family for making the trip for a vacation that we will never forget.

Mexico Madness

While we stayed at the resort we took advantage of the "kids club". There were crafts, treasure hunts, movies and face painting. All of us were blown away by the results of artist who painted away while the rest of us were at the swim up bar. On out last day at Dreams, we got to swim with the dolphins. I was a bit leary of this idea but I was soo wrong. We got to hug, kiss and dance with the dolphins. The dolphin instructor was happy to answer questions and even let us feed the dolphins.

AHHHH Mexico

At the resort, you could swim out for a little while, and jump on a water trampoline. This proved to be our only excersise for the trip. Needless to say with all the calories we consumed we should have made a few more trips out.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a chance to catch up with family members and EAT. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and meeting a new family member. Saylor was very excited to hold the baby and let him snuggle into her, what a great birthday!

Happy Birthday Saylor

Our little preemie turned 7 years old on Thanksgiving. She had an amazing birthday with lots of phone calls and family surrounding us. We spent the morning at home, opening gifts and playing dance dance revolution. Where does the time go?

HALLOWEEN HOGWARTS

Happy Halloween! The kids had the best time this year with Halloween. They are the perfect ages to enjoy all the festivities and not be scared. Saylor was Hermione (Harry Potter's best friend) and Tagg was Harry Potter the quiditch player. The little pumpkin in the picture is Matt's cousin's daughter, Kori. We stopped at Mimi's house and found someone had taken her place. Thank you for sewing the costumes, mimi, they were perfect.

We trick or treated with a group of friends, what a great bunch of kids!

Grandparent's Day

Our elementary school had it's annual Grandparent's Day in September. Cathy and John were on a vacation so Grandpa Albertson flew in from Albuquerque! We had so much fun that we decided to play HOOKEY, a word Tagg has come to love. We spent the afternoon at the Omaha Children's museum. We had never been there and we were blown away by all the art projects available. There was even an artist in residence to work with. Half of the museum was closed for repairs so we are already anticipating the next HOOKEY day.

Where's Luke?

When we got home from the first day of school there was a message on our machine that was my Dad, "Luke is having emergency appendectomy surgery, I just got a call from a nurse." The problem was that we did not get the name of the hospital and felt like we had no clue what was going on. I got in the car and started driving to Kansas City (4 1/2 HRs) Sarah started searching all hospitals. After finding Luke's boss and him not able to find Luke at any hospital we started to panic. The last hour of my drive Sarah called and said he was at the hospital that Luke worked at as an IT specialist and recovering. I was never so glad to see my baby brother as I was that night at 9 pm laying in dark room. He is now home and doing great. Luke had been in extreme pain for an entire night and finally at 8 am drove himself to the emergency room, got stuck in rush hour traffic, arrived and was immediately diagnosed. We found out later that when a patient is in surgery or emergency room they are not admitted to the hospital yet.
